About the Project:

The celebration and dedication will feature a ribbon cutting, speeches by Mike King, Director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and other special guests, and preliminary plans for the Watchable Wildlife project on the site.  We are pleased that this is part of this year's annual Monte Vista Crane Festival.  For the complete Crane Festival schedule of events, see www.cranefest.com.  If you are coming in for the weekend, you might want to check the website and register for some of the great tours and presentations they will offer this year.

RiGHT developed this effort in collaboration with the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife and the friends and families of Doug Shriver and Ray Wright to honor their service to the community.  The site is near their farms and includes the western portion of the current Rio Grande State Wildlife Area.  With the help of Parks and Wildlife, we will celebrate the new name in March and then continue our efforts to design and build a Watchable Wildlife project on site that will highlight the convergence of water, wildlife and agriculture that is at the core of the San Luis Valley community.

For more information on the dedication and the project, please feel free to contact RiGHT at
719-657-0800 or info@riograndelandtrust.org

We hope to see you on March 10th and appreciate your joining us for this special celebration!
